Immersion Web Plugin

The Immersion Web ActiveX Control and Immersion Web Netscape Plugin, collectively known as the Immersion Web Plugin, allow touch-enabled content created with Immersion rapid prototyping toolkits to play sensations in Microsoft Internet Explorer and some Netscape Navigator browsers.

The Immersion Web Plugin starts and stops touch effects from an Immersion Force Resource (IFR) file on a touch-enabled device. An IFR file is the output of an effect design session in Immersion Studio®. Methods of the Immersion Web Plugin can be called directly in a web page, using Javascript functions. The methods of the Immersion Web Plugin can also be called from any programming language that can call the methods of an ActiveX control, such as Visual Basic and Director’s Lingo.

The Immersion Web Plugin Reference contains a listing of available methods.

system requirements:
- Platform requirement: Windows 98, Me, 2000, XP
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 4 or greater and Netscape Navigator 4.x

For additional information, please reference the Immersion plug-in installation section of the web site.
